23 Reasons to Give
23 years ago, I was diagnosed with cancer (leukemia) for the second time. I had a life saving bone marrow transplant.
This year, I celebrated the 23rd anniversary of my transplant. I have now survived longer than my age at the time of transplant.
$23,000 = $1,000 for every year I've survived. I have registered to run in my first ever marathon and raise $23,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I tried to do this 5 years ago, and had a medical emergency weeks before the race, and wasn't able to compete. This year, I am fulfilling that original goal. I will be running in the Walt Disney World Marathon in January 2022.
Will you help me? I haven't run a race since I was originally diagnosed with leukemia as a high school student, and I'm now committed to running my very first marathon. I have also promised to help raise $23,000 before the race to help find a cure for leukemia.
